Jackson Casey’s BEEN HAD FOOTY (micro-interview)
BGR- You’ve come a long way since “We are Nobody”, which is the first video I saw of yours thanks to Ty Franz. How did you become a skateboard filmer?
Jackson- Started skating the first day of 6th grade. My neighbors little sister gave me her old board haha. Filming came in 8th but I didn’t really have a clue for a couple years. I’ve made six full length videos now, hoping for a 7th. Filming as a job is cool, but there is nothin like the homies!
BGR- Boyish was beyond epic for an independent video. How long was the filming process?
Jackson- Short Answer: A Year
Long Answer: After “Friends with Benefits” I had a lot of weird life circumstances and a lot of the dudes in the video did as well, kind of breaking filming up into a few big fragments of the year.
BGR- You guys got a lot done in a year. I noticed the amount of footage you had that was outside of Phoenix. What was your favorite place you visited while filming?
Jackson- It was really sick to be in Michigan with the homies cause that’s where im from. Thats more of a personal thing, other than that there’s no one place that sticks out, it was all really good. Everywhere we went had it’s oun bit of goodness for sure.
BGR- I really enjoyed the music selection for Boyish. You always seem to use music that you don’t here in most videos, which make your videos stand out amongst the herd. What are some current music influences?
Jackson- The music Ryan Sublette makes, “Adeodat Warfield” is allllways on point. Other than that it really changes quickly. Anyone doing something new or who was ahead of their time usually gets me psyched.
BGR- Thanks for answering a few Q’s Jack! and Now for Jackson’s part in Alex Hoffman’s “SAR”. Keep up the shredding Jack, Killing it in too many ways!
Rocky sighting in this 411 Tampa Pro from 2002. Pretty sick to see the Local Hero killing it amongst the top pros of yesterday and today. Hush Riot Biiiiitch! Keep your eyes peeled for the Jackson Casey interview coming Thursday at Brisco Got Robbed!
